About this Campaign
Queen Nkamushaba Shivan Ethel is passionate about empowering vulnerable young people with practical skills that can transform their lives. Her project focuses on supporting the residents at Ucare International Orphanage in Luzira by equipping them with income-generating skills that promote independence and self-reliance.
Many of the orphans at the home face financial challenges and limited access to essential resources. Without proper support, their opportunities for growth and development can be affected. Through this project, Shivan aims to enrich them with skills that can lead to self-employment, enabling them to earn an income and take care of their personal needs in the future.
A key focus of the project is menstrual hygiene education. The initiative seeks to teach girls how to make reusable sanitary pads, while also educating them about the importance of proper menstrual health management. In addition, the project plans to donate disposable sanitary towels to support immediate needs.
Improving menstrual hygiene knowledge will help increase awareness about reproductive health, reduce school absenteeism, and boost confidence among girls. When girls feel comfortable and supported during their menstrual periods, they are more likely to attend classes regularly and participate actively in school activities.
Queen Shivan strongly believes that addressing menstrual hygiene challenges will strengthen ambition, promote dignity, and motivate girls to stay in school. By combining education, skill development, and practical support, this project aims to empower young girls to believe in themselves and work toward achieving their dreams with confidence and determination.
