In the community of Misindye Sonde in Kampala lives Twesiime Justine, a hardworking single mother raising six children in a small one-roomed dumpsite setting. Despite the difficult conditions, Justine wakes up every morning before sunrise with one mission—to provide hope for her children.

Her day begins with boiling maize, which she sells in the nearby market. The small income from this humble business is the only source of livelihood for the family. Some days are better than others, but on the hardest days, the family is forced to sleep hungry because there is no money to buy food.

Education is Justine’s greatest dream for her children. However, the lack of school fees and scholastic materials often interrupts their studies. The children sometimes report late to school, miss classes, and at the end of the term they are not given report cards because of unpaid school fees. These challenges weigh heavily on Justine, but she has never given up on the dream of seeing her children complete their education.

Justine hopes for support to secure school fees, scholastic materials, and basic needs for her children. She also needs startup capital to expand her maize business into a more profitable venture that can sustain the family in the long term.

A total of UGX 3,900,000 per year is needed to support this family and restore hope to six young lives.
